My favourite day of the campaign so far: visiting the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Temple in Kingsbury, followed by a talk on the incredible work being done by the Shree Swaminarayan Agyna Upasana Satsang Mandal (UK).
Whilst Labour avoid talking about immigration and UKIP fill the airways with their bile, I continue to focus on the huge contribution that all communities make to our country, and particularly our fantastic city of London. The Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Temple is the physical manifestation of the beauty and power of the Hindu community: funded entirely by donations, classic in design yet modern and environmentally friendly in execution. Listening to the Shree Muktajeevan Pipe Band play the bagpipes there was an experience I'll never forget!
The Conservative Party locally already has members, Executives and Councillors from the Indian community, including our irrepressible Chairman Kanta Mistry, but we want more. As the Party for those who believe in hard work, for those who believe that faith and family, not the state should be at the centre of the community, for those that believe we need a strong economy if we are going to fund our NHS and Schools to a world-class standard - we are the natural party of the Indian community. I hope that more people will come and join us.
Thank you once again for making Hannah and me feel so welcome last night.
Luke.
